When an important file goes missing, Vijay makes it his life’s mission to catch the person who stole the file

Sardar is a solid addition to the list of Tamil spy movies despite its flaws
The film struggles to stay relevant and turns into a boring lecture
At some point, the film isn’t sure whether it wants to be a spy film or an awareness film
Karthi as Sardar, a spy in his 60’s, makes action look effortless
Rithvik as the child protagonist is a crowd-pleasing character that gets lost in the second half
