Arattupuzha Velayudha Chekavar, who is regarded as the first martyr of the Kerala renaissance from the 19th century, is the subject of an exploration by Vinayan of the social hierarchy, prejudice, and injustice that exist under the guise of the caste system. He unintentionally rebels against savarna supremacy and then decides to fight against it with all of his might. He opposes all forms of injustice and sides with Nangeli in her campaign against breast tax and the right of women to cover their chests. The movie is a made-up historical spectacle that provides the best possible cinematic experience. Every performer on screen, including Siju Wilson, Kayadu Lohar, Vishnu Vinay, M Jayachandran, and others, made for enjoyable viewing.
For bringing the story told from the viewpoint of the underprivileged during the nineteenth century to the big screen, Pathonpatham Noottandu deserves a special commendation. It is impressive to see director Vinayan create a superb period drama by enlisting actors rather than stars.
