In his first movie since 2010’s Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Jerry Bruckheimer is producing and directing the next American action drama Top Gun: Maverick. The movie is a follow-up to the Top Gun movie from 1986.
Tom Cruise’s character Maverick is now a flight instructor at the Top Gun academy. Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), one of the new recruits, is the son of Maverick’s late buddy and co-pilot, Nick Bradshaw (played in the original film by Val Kilmer).
When Maverick is chosen by a mysterious group to pilot a brand-new, top-secret fighter jet, he is dragged back into the world of dogfighting. But as he gets ready for the mission, he has to deal with his past, particularly his friendship with Charlotte Blackwood, the widow of his deceased companion (Jennifer Connelly).
